Missouri Jazz Orchestra (MOJO)

A 17-piece big band orchestra of pros & educators with a passion for the traditions of jazz.

In 2009, a jazz revolution began. The Missouri Jazz Orchestra, fondly known as MOJO, emerged as a collective of virtuoso musicians and educators. Our twice-monthly jam sessions have been the heartbeat of our dedication to jazz – America’s artistic gift to the world.

While their inspirations stem from legends like the Count Basie Orchestra and Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra, MOJO is more than just homage. It's about propelling jazz into the future while cherishing its rich past. And, boy, do we have a library to back that up! From Quincy Jones to Duke Ellington, our repertoire is a journey through jazz's greatest minds.

Now, in our grand new chapter at the Gillioz Center for Arts and Entertainment, we're not just playing jazz; we're making jazz history. With global jazz maestros gracing our stage, Springfield is on the cusp of becoming a jazz haven.

But, like any fine art, we need patrons. As a proud 501C3 non-profit, your support is our encore.
